

Herman Galindo passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 5, 2014 where he and his family wished to live out his remaining days in the comfort of his home. He is survived by his wife Susana (Susie) Galindo, his children Melissa Ornelas and husband Jim Ornelas, Herman Galindo III and wife Yolanda Galindo, Michael Rene Galindo and wife Jennifer Galindo, Christina Galindo, Zabrina Galindo Aguilera and husband Richard Aguilera, grandchildren Sarah, Beth, Jamie, Ramon, Valerie, Olivia, Melanie, Maximus, Mary, Marissa, and Theo, and one great granddaughter Leila. Also survived by his brothers Nohe Gilbert Galindo, Teofilo Galindo, Caesar Galindo, and George Galindo. Herman Galindo served honorably in the United States Marine Corps. During his service he was awarded the Silver Star and two Purple Hearts for his courageous actions during the Vietnam War. The Galindo Family would like to give their thanks to his doctors at William Beaumont Army Medical Center Dr. Imuro, Dr. Ellis, Dr. Lin, and nursing staff Capt. Murphy, Lt. Murrow, Lt. Joseph, and specialist Lt. Fowler. Also special thanks to his home care provider Lily. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 pm Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina with a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be at 11:30 am Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Roger Bacon Seminary on Frankfort Street. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
