

Ismael, is survived by his mother, Maria E. Medina Truax; his daughters, Monica Medina and Valerie Sanders; his granddaughter, Hope Austin; his grandsons, Dalton Porter and Johnathan M Green; his great grandchildren, Genesis RJ Green and Ezra J Green; his brothers, Raul Medina Truax, Joe Medina Truax, Jesse Medina Truax and Manny Medina Truax; his sisters, Rosario Medina, Dolores Leonardo, Marie E. Barros and Lupe Medina. He is predeceased by his father, Ismael Medina Muńoz, his sister, María Socorro Mendez and his brother, Martin Medina Truax.
Ismael was born in Babicora, Chihuahua, Mexico on June 10, 1954 to Ismael Medina Muńoz and Maria E. Medina Truax. He attended school at Bel Air high and later on he joined the Marine Corps, where he served from 1973 to 1977 and was also a member of the reserve forces until 1979. While in the military he earned an aircraft mechanic certificate and worked on some of the latest aircraft used during the Vietnam war for the Marines and the Navy. He later worked for McDonald Douglas in the Long Beach, CA assembly plant.
He was a loving and joyful family member that sparked a smile on everyone’s face the moment he said hello at our Holiday or birthday celebration reunions.
A visitation will be held at Hillcrest Funeral Home, located at 1060 North Carolina Drive, El Paso, TX 79915, on February 2, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A rosary will take place at the same venue from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
The funeral mass is scheduled for February 3, 2026, at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 8011 Williamette Ave, El Paso, TX 79907, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.
A graveside service will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, TX 79906, from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm.
