

Jackie (Leo) Wilson, 76 died December 30, 2010 at his home in Fabens, TX. He was born in Athens, TX on October 1, 1934. He is preceded in death by his father Lewis Wilson, his mother Jackie (Essie) Wilson, 2 brothers, 1 sister, his son Jackie Wilson JR, and his grandson Tristian Reign Wilson.
Services will be held at Martin Funeral Home (EAST) 1460 George Dieter on Tuesday January 4th at 11:00am. A celebration of his life will be held at 5:30pm Tuesday at the American Legion Post 598 located at 13000 Horizon Blvd. Horizon City.
Leo worked for Southern Pacific Railroad in El Paso and joined the US Navy in 1951 through 1955 where he served as boatswain mate on USS Sitkoh Bay CVE-86. He crossed the Pacific 27 times. He received his LLB from La Salle University in 1967. Leo was employed at Standard Oil Refinery for 15 years and was president of Local 826 Operating Engineers.
He moved to Fabens in 1970 with his wife, Terry Tidwell Wilson. Leo raced Appaloosa horses, owned and operated Desert Oil Company, and served on the Board of Directors of the First National Bank of Fabens and Red Bird Bank in Dallas.
Leo was a business entrepreneur in real estate development, restaurant ownership and farming. He established 5 El Paso pawnshops and opened Justice Bail Bonds.
He enjoyed Karate for many years and held a 1ST degree black belt in Sho Tokan, Tae Kwon Do and Butokan. He is a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign War and American Legion Post #598 in Horizon City.
Leo is survived by his wife, Terry, 3 daughters, Robin Lynn Wilson, Leilani Lea Aikman, and Jebadiah Clawson, his son, Trajan Reign Wilson, his son-in-law, Don Clawson, his sister Nadine Harris, 6 grandchildren and 4 great grand children.
