JAKE MARTINEZ, 63, beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather met the Lord in Heaven as he passed away Thursday, December 6, 2018 with his family by his side. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Jacobo and Paula Martinez. Surviving is loving spouse of 39 years, Hilda Martinez and his sisters, Lettie Martinez and Governor Susana Martinez (Chuck Franco). Also surviving are his three children, Michelle Tarango (Chris Tarango), Christina Saenz (Pablo Saenz) and Jacob Martinez Jr. Including four grandchildren, Nathaniel, Vianae, Andrew and Benjamin.
As the proud and local business owner of MARCOBO UNIFORMS, Jake dedicated his time to hard work and created everlasting friendships with his customers. Through his life, Jake was
surrounded by lifelong friends who loved and supported him. Jake was a fine example of a
dedicated husband and always showed his children constant love. Through years of coaching
his children in sports, or offering valuable life lessons, Jake supported his family and instilled the
value of hard work and love. He will be eternally missed.
Jake lost his battle of life to ALS, and to the end was grateful to all the medical professionals
that greatly impacted his life. This disease only affected Jake’s body, but never his mind. To the
end he was able to continue his love and heard all the thoughts and prayers of family and loved
ones. Family is asking to continue Jake’s fight by making donations to the ALS Association in
memory of Jake.

The Rosary will be held on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at 7:00 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home,
1060 North Carolina Dr., El Paso, TX 79915. The Funeral Mass will follow on Monday,
December 17, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 11700 Pebble Hills Blvd., El
Paso, TX 79936 with burial services immediately following at Evergreen East Cemetery, 12400
Montana Ave., El Paso, TX 79938.
