

Jane Piatt Emmett passed away on March 8, 2011. She was born in El Paso on January 17, 1931. She attended Loretto Academy, graduated from Austin High School and the Texas College of Mines, where she was a theatre and communications major and cheerleader. She was cast in many shows of the College Players Group, and a newscaster at KTSM Radio, where she met the love of her life, Gabriel Thomas Emmett, Jr. She was a very beautiful, fine lady. Jane was a President of: St. Patrick’s Altar Society, El Dedon Verde Garden Club, Putters Group of Thunderbird Country Club; Board of Directors of: The Junior League of El Paso, Women’s Department of the Chamber of Commerce, UTEP Women’s Auxiliary, Christ Child Society; member of: The Pan American Round Table, Daughters of the American Revolution, Las Comadres, College of the Desert Foundation Auxiliary, Century Club of Palm Springs; founding member of: Junior League Sustainers of the Desert of Palm Springs and Junior League of Palm Springs, and named Miss Fullwiler Motors. Jane is preceded in death by her husband, Gabriel; father, William Piatt, Jr.; mother, Frances Buchanan Piatt Guynes; and step-father, James T. Guynes. Survivors include daughters: Marsha Daw (Wade), Keith Emmett, Mary Jane Windle (Wayne), sons, Tom (Danielle), Nick (Margie) and John (Michele). Grandchildren: Christian and Jessica Daw, Christen and Christopher Emmett, William, John and Benjamin Windle, Tom Jr., Amanda and Samantha Emmett, William, Jackson and Madeline Emmett, Emily and Jake Emmett and her sister, Keithley Wagner (Donn), her life-long friend, Paula Lynch and her loving caregiver, Alejandrina Rodriguez. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2011, at 11:00 AM at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 400 W. Sunset Rd., with Msgr. David Fierro officiating.
