Jeanne C. Paul, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2024, in El Paso, Texas. She was born on July 23, 1930, in Ray, Arizona, to Fred and Blanche Schuller. Jeanne lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to her family and community.
Jeanne was a proud graduate of Ysleta High School, completing her studies in 1948. Shortly after, she began her career at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, where she worked diligently until 1957. After that, she dedicated herself to being a devoted housewife and mother until she re-entered the workforce in 1970, taking on the role of Attendance Clerk for the Ysleta Independent School District. She served in this position until her retirement in 1995, where she left a lasting impact on the lives of many students and families.
On November 27, 1949, Jeanne married the love of her life, Leslie W. Paul, in El Paso, Texas. Together, they built a beautiful family and shared countless cherished memories. Sadly, Jeanne was preceded in death by her loving husband Leslie, her parents Fred and Blanche Schuller, and her beloved sisters Ora Lea Houston and Freddie Jo Peterson.
Jeanne is survived by her two sons, Fred L. Paul and Derral W. Paul (Maggielyn), who were her pride and joy. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren, Kristen Addington (Dan), Tommy Paul (Stacy), and Skyler Helms (Brandon); great-grandchildren Taylor, Ian, Cole, Aubrey, and Blake and her brothers, Bill Schuller, Johnny Schuller (Georgia), and Kenny Schuller (Jody), as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Jeanne was actively involved in her community, particularly through her work with the PTA, where she held several offices, including council secretary and area vice president, eventually being elected as County PTA Chief. Her commitment to the community did not stop there. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Post 598, contributing her time and energy, especially after her retirement.
Jeanne's zest for life extended far beyond her community service. She had a unique sense of humor and a deep love for hosting Christmas Eve parties—a cherished family tradition that brought everyone together. Known for her fondness for Natural Light beer and her famously spicy green chili dip, Jeanne often left her family laughing as they tried to brave the heat.
A heartfelt thank you is extended to Greenhills Foster Home and its caregivers, whose compassionate care provided comfort and support to Jeanne in her final years. Your kindness will forever be appreciated by her family.
Jeanne's life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and the joy she brought to others. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. A funeral service will be held at Fort Bliss National Cemetery on January 17, 2025, at 2:30 PM, where friends and family are invited to celebrate her remarkable life.
May her spirit continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she touched, and may she rest in peace.
