

Mr. John H. Greenup passed away on April 21, 2017 at the age of 82. Born June 3, 1934, he was raised in his beloved hometown, Marfa, TX. He proudly served his country for two years in the Army and four years in the Army reserves. He retired after 27 years with the U.S. Civil Service (3 years in Alaska) and retired again after 14 years of work at UTEP. Along the way he had several jobs in the electrical industry. He was heavily involved with the Lower Valley Longhorn Youth Organization, Lower Valley Optimist Club, and the athletic booster clubs for Hillcrest Jr. High and Bel Air High School. He was an avid fan of UTEP athletics and local dirt track racing. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Sallie J. Greenup and his four children Perry (Mary), Terry (Jonna), Kyle (Sheila), Stephanie (Jimmy) Harris, his grandchildren Lauren, Ashley, Nicole, Kelsey, Amanda, Eric, Danielle, Ashtin, Dylan, Hannah and Gunner, two great grandchildren Lane and Avery. Sister in law Marie Cain, brother Benny Greenup and sister Lorraine Roberts. Special thanks to his loving Doctors, Dr. Ines Sanchez, Dr. Jeanette Tan, Dr. Anuradha Gupta, and Dr. Ka Wong. Visitation will be Tuesday April 25, 2017 5-9, prayer service at 6pm at Hillcrest Funeral Home. Graveside service is Wednesday April 26, 2017 2:30 Ft. Bliss.
