

John Scott Steinberger, 45, passed away on March 8, 2013. Scott was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend to many. He was preceded in death by his mother, Katherine Lewis Steinberger and is survived by his father, John Clinton Steinberger; sisters, Katherine Ann Norvell and Shelley Swinney (and husband, Bill); brother, Clark (and wife, Jemme) and nieces and nephews, Kim Norvell, John Swinney, Callie Swinney, James Swinney, and Sarah Mitchell.
Born and raised in El Paso, Scott graduated from Coronado High School. He received a BS in political science from the University of North Texas and his Juris Doctorate from Texas Tech School of Law. He practiced law for several years in El Paso and Albuquerque. Scott also worked as a landman around the country. In 2011 he returned to El Paso where he and his father recently went into practice together.
Scott was both sensitive and fun-loving as well as compassionate and loyal. He will be deeply mourned and missed by his family and friends. A Memorial service will take place on Thursday, March 14th at 4pm at University Presbyterian Church, 244 N. Resler, the Rev. John Nelsen officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Animal Rescue League of El Paso or University Presbyterian Church. Services entrusted to Martin Funeral Home West, 128 N.
