It is with deep sadness and loving remembrance that we announce the passing of Jorge Ortiz, who departed this life on July 29, 2026, at the age of 76.
Jorge was born on February 18, 1950, in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, and most recently made his home in El Paso, Texas. He lived a life defined by hard work, devotion to his family, and an appreciation for the simple joys that brought people together.
For 25 years, Jorge traveled across the country as a truck driver, experiencing the beauty of America's highways and landscapes. Among all the places he visited, driving through the rolling hills and scenic roads of Tennessee remained one of his favorite experiences.
Jorge had a passion for football and was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan who rarely missed a game. He enjoyed watching old westerns and action-thriller movies, listening to the music of the 1970s, and sharing stories with those around him. He especially loved traditional Mexican cuisine, with chiles rellenos and just about any Mexican dish always among his favorites.
Above all else, Jorge cherished his family. Nothing brought him greater happiness than family parties, celebrations, and gatherings filled with laughter, conversation, and love. Those moments spent surrounded by the people he loved most were the memories he treasured throughout his life.
Jorge is survived by his mother Artemisa Ortiz, his wife Margarita Ortiz and daughter Cynthia Maldonado.
Jorge will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his love of travel, his warm presence, and the deep love he had for his family. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and he will be dearly missed.
May he rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love that he so freely shared throughout his life.
