

The third of five children, born to his loving parents Jose and Lydia Carrillo, grew up amongst his sisters Xochitl and Aida and his brothers Ruben and Armando.
Graduated from the Escuela Superior Hermanos Escobar in 1965 as an agricultural engineer, he had a successful career of over 25 years in Chihuahua, and then moved to Juarez, Chihuahua, where he retired as an auxiliary Judge. He had a lifelong passion for literature, cinema, and folk music, passions that he passed on to his daughters.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Esther, his daughter Elida Berumen, her husband Alejandro, and their daughters Camila and Alexa; her daughter Maria Fernanda Santamaria, her husband Michael, and their children Paulina, Strout, and Steven.
Jose is remembered by his family and friends for his humor and generous personality, as well as his dedication to his family and the life he led.
A memorial service will be held at St Matthew Catholic Church, located at 400 W Sunset, El Paso, Texas, 79922. The service is scheduled for November 20, 2025, beginning at 11:00 am.
