Jose Lorenzo Hernandez

Jose Lorenzo Hernandez, beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on August 28, 1933, in Durango, Mexico, Jose carried with him a deep love for his roots and the values instilled in him from an early age. In his early twenties, he journeyed to El Paso, Texas, where he built a life defined by family, hard work, and quiet strength.

Jose was married to his devoted wife, Petra Hernandez, for 54 years. Together, they raised a family that became his greatest source of pride. He is survived by his four children, thirteen grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren, each of whom he cherished deeply.

Those who knew Jose will remember him for his gentle spirit, steady presence, and the peaceful joy he found in life’s simple pleasures. He especially loved taking long drives in his white pickup truck—often heading out to visit and spend time with family. He found happiness simply in the presence of those he loved, quietly soaking in the moments and company that meant the world to him.

A visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Hillcrest West, located at 5054 Doniphan Dr., El Paso, Texas, 79932, on Saturday December 13, 2025, from 8:30 am to 10:00 am. A rosary will also take place at the same venue on December 13, 2025, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.

The committal will occur at Mount Carmel Cemetery, located at 401 S Zaragoza Rd, El Paso, TX, 79907, on December 13, 2025, from 11:00 am to 11:30 am.

Jose leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and family unity. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
