Jose Villagrana

Jose Villagrana “Apa” passed away on August 18th, 2025. He was two months short of turning 80. What an amazing, beautiful life he had. He is survived by his wife Manuela of 58 years, his children Bertha (Juan) Peña, Gracie (John) Candelaria, Daniel (Mariana) Villagrana, Anita (Danny) Muñoz, and Josie Villagrana. Along with 14 grandchildren - Greg (Becky), Manny (Candace), Jessica (Jesse), Alex, Andrew, Bella, Johnny, Brianna, Yulissa, Mateo, Aileen, Melanie, Daniel, and Audrey. Also 8 great-grandchildren (Julian, Zayden, Lionel, Amaris, Leila, Leanna, Luvina, and Aiden).

He was a devoted husband, caring father, grandfather, and friend. He loved the outdoors, traveling, and being with family. He loved to take morning walks and work on home projects. No matter how far, he always wanted to drive to new places. His daughters always had a dancing partner (especially corridas). He was never shy about asking to be in pictures. Evenings after dinner were dedicated to his love of wrestling and action films. We will always remember Apa in his caps/hats and crazy T-shirts. He was raised in a family of strong Catholic faith and passed it on to all his kids and grandkids.

Apa, you always loved in your special quiet way. You will be dearly missed and always in our hearts. We love you!

A Visitation for Jose will be held Monday, August 25, 2025 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at Funeraria Del Angel Hillcrest West, 5054 Doniphan Drive, El Paso, TX 79932, with a Rosary beginning at 7:00pm. A Funeral Mass will occur Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at 10:00am at San Martin De Porres, 1885 McNutt Rd, Sunland Park, New Mexico 88063. An Interment will follow at 11:15am at Memory Gardens of the Valley, 4900 McNutt Rd, Santa Teresa, New Mexico 88063.
