Juana L. Torres

Abuelita Juanita was a dedicated parishioner of Our Lady of the Light Catholic Church. She was a caring, loving, and devoted mother of 10, proud grandmother to 30 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. On Thursday February 7, 2013 at age 89 she was called to be with our Lord peacefully in her home in El Paso, Texas. Born August 28, 1923 in Aguascalientes, Mexico to Cipriano Lomeli Lopez and Cista Hernandez Lopez, both predeceased. She was raised in Aguascalientes with her siblings Leonardo, Meliton, Catalina, and Amada Lopez, all predeceased. In 1948, she married Asuncion Herbert Torres and enjoyed 46 years of marriage, he preceded her in death in 1994. Two children, Armando and Rafael Torres, predeceased her as well.

Abuelita is survived by 8 of her 10 children Mario, wife Elisa Torres, Amparo, husband Ronald D. Woo, Alicia Reyes, Arturo, Jaime, Manuel, Norma, husband Jaime Gonzalez, Jorge, wife Maria Torres, all grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are sons Mario, Arturo, Manuel, Jaime and Jorge Torres grandsons Jose Reyes Jr., Rafael C. Torres, Ronald J. Woo, Jose A. Villegas Jr., Jaime Torres Jr., and Steven A. Torres.

Friends and Family will be received Monday, February 11, 2013 from 5:00 to 9:00 pm with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Martin East. Funeral Mass Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 10:00 am, Lady of the Light Catholic Church . Interment will immediately follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
