Leslie Edward Turner, 86, passed away June 27, 2016, in El Paso, Texas, where he was born on November 6, 1929. Leslie graduated from Texas Western College in 1951. Following graduation he served with the United States Army in Korea. One of the highlights of his civilian career was working on the Apollo Saturn Rocket in Huntsville, Alabama, which accounts for his interest in astronomy.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jay and Earlie Turner and his brother Jay M. Turner. His daughter Jill Marie Toussaint, her husband Douglas, and their children Genevieve, Victor and Spencer survive him. His sisters Marjorie Boswell and Nanette Creamer; his nieces Roxanne Franks, Cindy Olson, Carol Francis, and Julie Esman; his nephews Jay Lynn Turner and David Boswell; and 9 great nieces and nephews also survive him. Rite of Committal will be at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Services under the direction of Hillcrest Funeral Home- West.
