Lilia Arredondo Contreras

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lilia Contreras, age 63, on April 12, 2025. Lilia was a beloved wife, devoted mother, treasured sister, loving grandmother, and a wonderful aunt, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Lilia, known to many as Lilly, celebrated 43 wonderful years of marriage to her loving husband, Rudy Contreras Sr, whom she met at Bel Air High School, and they were inseparable ever since. Together, they built a life filled with joy, laughter, and unwavering support for one another.

Lilly was known for her unconditional love of her family. She was at every football, soccer, and tee ball game, dance competition, awards assembly, and more. She had a nurturing spirit and touched the lives of many with her warmth and compassion. She dedicated herself to her family, creating a loving, cherished environment for years to come.

Lilly is survived by her husband and two children, Christy Lopez and her husband David Lopez, Rudy Contreras Jr. and his wife, Pearl Contreras; her five grandchildren, Alyssa, Jacob, Ethan, Isaiah, and Ryan, who were the light of her life and the source of her greatest joy. She also leaves behind her only sister, Yolanda Garcia, whose bond will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew them, as well as her brother-in-law, Mike Garcia, two nephews, Omar and Marcos Garcia, and their beautiful families.

Though Lilia has left us, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. We invite family and friends to celebrate her life and share memories of the beautiful impact she had on those around her.

Rest in peace, our angel, Lilia. Your love and light will always be with us.

A Visitation will be held on April 23rd, from 5:00-9:00 pm, with the Rosary starting at 7:00 pm at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 N Carolina Dr, El Paso, TX, 79915. The Mass will begin at 10:00 am on April 24th at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 8011 Willamette Ave, El Paso, TX 79907.

Lilia will be laid to rest in Mount Carmel Cemetery, 401 S Zaragoza Rd, El Paso, Texas 79907.
