Linda Charlotte Wadsworth, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully to her heavenly home on December 9, 2025, at age 76 in Riverside, California, surrounded by loved ones.
Born January 14, 1949, in El Paso, Texas, to Mary Jeanne Cates and Charles Leighton Gish, Linda graduated from Coronado High School and attended the University of Texas at El Paso. She married Donald Adams Wadsworth in 1971, and together they raised four children: Matthew, Shannon, Michelle, and Michael. After years as a devoted stay-at-home mom, Linda earned her Bachelor’s in Education from UTSA in 1989. She began a 25-year teaching career and retired from the Christian Academy of San Antonio in 2015. Linda’s faith guided every aspect of her life and teaching, and she joyfully shared the love of Jesus with those around her, making a lasting impact on countless lives.
Linda cherished her relationships with her children and grandchildren, near and far, and found immense joy in her roles as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Linda enjoyed walks, journaling, nature, reading, yoga, playing guitar, country western dancing, traveling, watching Hallmark movies, classic country singers, and the Beach Boys. Her quirky sense of humor and unique, hilarious, creative problem-solving skills were cherished by those who knew her. She never met a stranger and loved making new friends wherever she went.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, aunt, and uncles. She is survived by her four children, thirteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, cousins, ex-husband Donald Wadsworth, and best friend Sue Koppel.
A service will be held at Memory Gardens of the Valley, New Mexico, Texas, on January 5, 2026.
You left us wonderful memories, your love is still our guide, and though we cannot see you, you are always by our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.
