She was born October 26, 1933 in San Angelo, Texas to Fermin and Isabell Mendez Lara.
She lovingly and wholeheartedly served God as a Catholic and a Guadalupana. Lola married Manuel M. Garcia, October 1, 1951; they were married for 41 years until Dad's passing on July 28, 1992.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Manuel M. Garcia, sons, Ralph L. Garcia and Robert L. Garcia, grandchildren, Hope Harcrow, Angel Garcia, and Omar Leyva, and great-grandchild, Beau Rodriguez.
Mom enjoyed the company of her family and friends. She was a friend to all and never forgot a name or a face. We all well remember how at home she would often spontaneously burst into song when she was reminded of either the lyrics or title of a song. Mom's favorite interests were her faith and family. She loved visiting family and friends at the nursing home. Our mom, Lola, was a retiree Special Ed Bus Driver/Teacher Aide for the Pecos-Barstow-Toyah ISD; employed 20 years.
Mom is survived by her son Rudy and wife Frances Garcia from Alpine, daughters, Rebecca Garcia Harcrow of Pecos, Rosie and husband, John Leyva from El Paso.
Mom also leaves to cherish her memory 6 grandchildren Celeste Garcia Rodriguez (Eric), Isaac Garcia (Amanda), Olivia Garcia Vasquez (Juan), Jeremy Hartnett (Daniela), Esai and Sarah Leyva, 4 great-grandchildren, Sonny and Stella Rodriguez, Leonardo Vazquez (AKA Baby Avocado) and Zeke Hartnett. Along with many very much-loved nieces, nephews, friends, and three sisters.
