P.S. ..Leigh Ann, Lorraine and Glenn loved you so very much.  I remember you from many years ago, going everywhere with them. Their love was unconditional. They were blessed to have had you and in their life,  and you were blessed to have had them in your life. 

Lorrine was a faithful member of Mt. View United Methodist Church where my family attended until the building  was sold to The Salvation Army.  Later we all attended Tobin Park UMC. Lorraine and Glenn were good friends and hard workers in their church. She was an inspiration and role model to many of us who were a bit younger.  She was always working on some kind of project or finding ways to help others. Heaven had gained another ANGEL..She has probably already found a new project to keep her busy.  RIP Old Friend. 

Oh Mama I miss you! 

Too many memories to count! Your love and support in me made me the woman I am today. I will forever cherish you in my heart. You were my Godsend, my world, my mom, MY Nana! 

Your hugs and kisses were the best. Your gentle touch when times got tough helped ease me. Never telling me"no" when I needed your security going to sleep or getting up in the middle of the night. You kept the hall night light on so I could quickly find you. You ensured we always had a good meal everyday at 5 p.m., routines made life so stable. I hope you knew what greatness you brought into my life.

I'm so proud to call you mine, you still are. There will be no other YOU. Your independence, your life, your end...all done your way. I love you for that. 


The summer of 1997 Lorrine came back for a visit.  We had a nice time at the park.  My kids really enjoyed that Grandpa was Lorrine's big brother, just like Thomas was Sarah's big brother.  I think they enjoyed thinking of their Grandpa and Aunt Lorrine growing up together and playing like they did. 

I remember visiting my Aunt Lorrine  in El Paso and going over into Juarez.  And I remember her coming up in the summers to visit us on the farm in KS.  Rest in Peace.  Aunt Lorrine pictured with her brothers, Lamar (my Dad) and Charles  and their father Forrest Whitson. 

You were my life. U gave me life and always took care of me without hesitation and u never said “no” to me even when u probably should of. I will forever cherish all the memories I have of us. U were my best friend and I’ll never forget you and ur love.

I remember Auntie, Uncle Glenn and Tim visiting in the summer; she always remembered all of us kids at Christmas and sent packages; I enjoyed visiting with her and Sam in later years... she will be missed.

Auntie gave me this ring when I was Probly about 5 years old.  I still wear it occasionally and it is very special to me even though it doesn’t fit quite like it used to. My nieces always admired it when I wore it and I found some like it to share with them. I credit Lorrine for my love of turquoise because of this ring. Vacations to visit her and Uncle Glenn in El Paso include memories of white sands, visiting the missle base, old Mexico and making delicious Mexican food, a cute little chair we bought in Mexico, watching the  dog races, seeing the bullfights and my first short haircut! Then there were the visits they made to our home in Tulsa and in Kansas. When they started bringing  that little Leigh Ann girl, things got a bit crazy and fun! I affectionately called her the “mental patient”, but we all fell in love with her just like she’s part of the family.  Auntie Lorrine, may she Rest In Peace with her family who went before her and dance with them and the angels on streets of gold until we all get to Heaven💜
