

Lyle E. Hoff, loving and devoted husband and father passed away on June 9, 2014 at the age of 94 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years Mary Rose. Lyle Hoff has 3 children, Timothy Lyle Hoff (Cyndy), Merry Lee Martin (Bobby†) and Laurel Merrill (Bill), Eight grandchildren, Twelve great-grandchildren and Five great great-grandchildren. Lyle was born on March 24, 1920 in Kenosha, WI. He met his wife while in school. Lyle served in the CCC’s in 1938 to 1940, when he enlisted into the US Army. He obtained the rank of MSGT and served throughout the European theatre. He landed in Normandy on D Day+3 with the 3rd Armor. He was transfer to the Red Ball Express which supplied Gen. Patton 3rd Army in the Battle of the Bulge. MSGT Hoff left the service after WWII and returned to civilian life. Lyle reenlisted in 1948 and was transferred to Ft. Bliss in El Paso, Texas. This became his home for the rest of his life. His remaining military career was with the Air Defense Center. He was the chief pilot with the RCAT Military Drones. After his retirement in 1963 Lyle Hoff worked for Beech Aerospace with the Target Drone Systems at White Sands, New Mexico. After 20 years he retired as Vice President Target Systems at Beech Aerospace. The Hoff family will receive family and friends for Visitation and Rosary on Thursday, June 12, 2014 from 5:00 to 9:00 pm. Recitation of the Holy Rosary to begin at 7:00 pm. Graveside service will be Friday, June 13, 2014 at 9:00 am at Fort Bliss National Cemetery where he will be laid to rest with full Military Honors.
