Mabel Ruth Spearman

Mabel Ruth Spearman passed away on Monday, July 2, 2012. Ruth was born March 10, 1917 in Fletcher, Oklahoma to Carlos and Martha Keanie. Ruth grew up in Alamogordo, New Mexico. After moving to El Paso, Ruth attended Business College. Her accounting knowledge led to two years with an accounting firm and then ten years as business manger of Medical Center Corporation until its sale in 1977.

Ruth was married to Dr. M.P. Spearman for 22 years. Ruth was a member and elder at Manhattan Presbyterian Church. She was active with duties on the session, in women’s work, as a volunteer for El Pan and Drive A Meal and sewing for children in our mission programs. Ruth was honored in 1993 by the Women of the Church with a Life Membership.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her son, Roger McNew. Ruth leaves behind her good friends, Mrs. Par Mitchell and Mr. and Mrs. John Ozaki. Special thanks to the staff at White Acres Good Samaritan Building 300, VNA Hospice and Lourdes Martinez!

Graveside Service will be held Monday, July9, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to FDA Kaster-Maxon & Futrell Funeral Home, 8817 Dyer Street.
