Magdalena "Nena" Jacques

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and dear friend, Magdalena “Nena” Jacques, age 93, a lifelong resident of Chamberino, NM entered eternal life on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Nena was born May 29, 1931 to Jose and Clementa Leos in Chamberino, NM. She was an active member of the San Luis Rey Catholic Church Altar Society. Nena, alongside her husband Pete, served as Fiesta Mayordomes for many years. Aside from being a homemaker, Nena also drove buses #88 and #66 for Boone Transportation for 28 years and was also a Senior Companion. She loved the company of her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Pete S. Jacques Sr., her son, Pete Jacques Jr., her siblings Virginia Jacquez and Francisco Leos. She is survived by her son, Andrew “Andy” Jacques (Christina), daughter in law Conchita, grandchildren Barbara, Claudia, Roland, Marissa (Jorge), Isaac (Ayleen) and great- grandchildren, Noami, Adrian, Saeed, Westtyn and Kylee Jacques along with several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mrs. Jacques will begin at 9:00 AM Thursday, August 1, 2024, at San Luis Rey Catholic Church, 206 San Luis Ave. Chamberino, New Mexico 88021. Rosary at 10:00 AM, Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM with The Reverend Alonso Quiñonez; Celebrant and burial to follow at the Chamberino Cemetery where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband, 422 Cemetery St, Chamberino, New Mexico 88027.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Roland and Isaac Jacques, Jorge Chacón Jr., Israel Quiroga, Dyami Provencio, Hector Vasquez, Willie Hernandez and Bobby Kuykendall. Honorary Pallbearers, Dosi Alvarez and Alonso Medina.

The family would like to thank Mesilla Valley Hospice of Las Cruces for their loving care and Araceli, her caregiver, for all her love, help, care and compassion with Nena during our time of need.
