

Margaret Rose Claybon Walker was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on October 1, 1930, the daughter of John and Amanda Claybon. Following a brief hospitalization at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, Margaret was called to her heavenly home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on March 8, 2016.
Margaret was a loving, caring, thoughtful, and witty wife, mother, and friend to many. Following her primary education in Tulsa, she attended Hampton University, graduating with a degree in music. She was a member of Delta Sigma Theta sorority. Following graduation, she became an elementary school teacher in Dallas, Texas. It was at Hampton that she met and subsequently married her husband Alan of 62 years.
She enjoyed singing, traveling, and was an avid reader. She was a faithful and outgoing member of the United Methodist Women’s group at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church for over 40 years, where she also sang in the choir for over 30 years. She also served as a volunteer at Del Sol Hospital for over 30 years until illness slowed her down.
Margaret is preceded in death by her parents John and Amanda Claybon. She is survived by her loving husband Ceasar Alan Walker and their three sons, Alan Walker, Brian Walker, and Cary Walker, grandsons Michael Walker and Cameron Walker, brother John E. Claybon, nephew John Eric Claybon (Mae), and niece Sherri Jenkins (Samuel). Many other relatives mourn her passing.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 13 from 5-8 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home. Services will be held Monday, March 14 at 12:15 p.m. at St. Paul’s UMC with burial at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Service under the direction of HILLCREST FUNERAL HOME 1060 N. Carolina 598-3332.
