Maria A. Lay, age 85, passed away on Sunday February 25, 2018. She was born August 31, 1932 in Mexico. Maria is survived by her spouse Albert Bill Lay; daughters Rita Garcia, Dolores Ann Garcia, and Josephine Lay; brothers Rodrigo Chavez, Luis Chavez, Juan Chavez, and Gonzalo Chavez; sister Margarita Marquez; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. A visitation for Maria will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina Drive, with a vigil at 7:00 PM. A funeral mass will occur Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 7712 South Rosedale Street. A committal service will occur Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Avenue.
