Maria Luisa was the beloved daughter of parents Jose Felix and Elvira Silva who preceded her in death and little sister to WWII heroes Jose Angel and Martin Silva. She was a devoted and loving wife to her husband of 62 years, Ramon Holguin. She now has been reunited with him in eternal peace. Their love was a true partnership, grounded in faith and mutual respect. They happily hosted family gatherings for all their years together. They were active in social clubs and enjoyed dinners and dancing with many dear friends who have waited for her in heaven to give her a “rich welcome” into the eternal kingdom (2 Peter 1:11).
Maria Luisa, also known as “Licha”, was born September 28, 1928. She was a graduate of Aoy Elementary School and Bowie High School. She was a parishioner, together with her husband, at St. Patrick Cathedral.
She was the loving mother to four daughters whom she raised, with her husband, in the Catholic faith: Rita Calderon, Sylvia Almonte, Angelica Holguin, and Ettie Castellano. They brought her immense pride and joy. Her life was further blessed by grandchildren Rita Rene Inkpen, Erica Salinas, David Almonte, Claudia Loya Duran, Nicolas Loya, Elisa Rae Lange, and Carlos Munoz. She is also lovingly remembered by great grandchildren Liliana, Santino, Adelaida, Cristoval, Marilu, Hannah, Gabriella, and Leonardo. They will forever hold her memory close.
A woman of deep faith, Maria Luisa was a parishioner of St. Patrick Cathedral. She will continue to be an inspiration to all whose lives she touched.
