Maria Socorro Ramirez, 62, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away July 30, 2019, with her family by her side. She was born to Juan Gonzalez Ruiz and Maria Delfina Ruiz Gonzalez on May 27, 1957 in Michoacán Mexico.
Maria was married to Francisco Ramirez Gonzalez in 1985. Maria is survived by her children Jorge David Ramirez, Francisco Ramirez, Guadalupe Ramirez, Miguel Ramirez, Maria Del Carmen Ramirez, Juan Ramirez and Magdalena Ramirez; her grandchildren Jazlyn Reyes, Destiny Avalos, Kamila Fe Ramirez, Athen Zane Ramirez, Isaiah Ramirez and Malachi Miguel Ramirez; and her siblings Ramon Gonzalez Ruiz, Francisco Gonzalez Ruiz, Leonel Gonzalez Ruiz, Juan Gonzalez Ruiz, Maria Guadalupe Gonzalez Ruiz and Esperanza Gonzalez Ruiz.
Maria was a long-time resident of El Paso and was an active and devoted member at Our Lady of Assumption; she worked many years at El Sarape Del Valle where she was well known and admired by many. Maria was wonderfully devoted to her children; her greatest passions included cooking, gardening and listening to religious music. Maria is described as a wise, happy, strong, determined and fiercely independent woman but at the same time she was humble. Her children describe her as a brave woman who was not scared of anything or anyone! When she said she was going to do something – she meant it. Maria also had a great sense of humor – she was always joking around, playing along with her children, letting herself be snapchatted with filters; Maria knew how to have a good time and could always bring a smile to her children and grandchildren’s faces – all of whom she loved and doted on even through her sickest days. Maria will be deeply missed every day by those she leaves behind.
Funeral services will be held beginning with the viewing and rosary on Friday, August 2, 2019 at Funeraria Del Angel Restlawn on 8817 Dyer, El Paso, Texas 79904. A religious ceremony will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Our Lady of Assumption church at 4800 Byron St, El Paso, Texas. Following the ceremony will be the burial at Restlawn Cemetery at 4848 Alps, El Paso, Texas 79904 at approximately 12:45.
