Maria Elena Sanchez loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at the age of 98. Maria Elena was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Cruz Sanchez, and children Hortencia Gutierrez and Hector Manuel Sanchez. She is survived by her children Maria Palmira Chavez, Norma E. Sanchez, Irma A. Sanchez, Carol S. Gomez, Luz Maria Sanchez, Gloria del Carmen Ronquillo, Carlos Cruz Sanchez, Sergio Luis Sanchez, Jose Alfredo Sanchez and Patricia Oaxaca, 39 grandchildren, 80 great-grandchildren and 39 great-great grandchildren. Maria Elena is also survived by her niece, Isela Espinosa. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 7th from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina Drive with Vigil beginning at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held Monday, June 8th at 10:00 AM at Santo Nino de Atocha Catholic Church, 210 S. Clark. Interment will follow at Evergreen East Cemetery, 12400 Montana Avenue.
