Mark lived a vibrant and adventurous life, marked by both adversity and unforgettable moments. There was never a dull moment when Mark was around. He attended Irvin High School, where he played football for a short time. Charismatic and quick-witted, Mark could talk his way into almost anything—some of us have firsthand accounts of that. He was comical, loved to dance, and had a presence that filled any room.
Mark was a friend to some, a protector to others, and family to us all. He is remembered for his deep love of music, his positive attitude, and his sharp sense of humor. While life’s paths caused distances over the years, Mark’s family acknowledges the impact of his life and the person he was in his youth. We choose to remember him with the hope that he has found the peace that often eluded him during his lifetime.
Mark is survived by his loving daughter; one Aunt, Louise Green; eldest cousins Billy Green, Bobby Dodd, and Ella Mae Lee; siblings Johnny “Dennis” Green (Val) of Arizona, Tracy Mitchell (Tanya) of Texas, Irvin Porter Jr. of Arizona, Mary Ann Camacho (Rich) of Texas, Pamela Bernard of Colorado, and Michael Mitchell Jr. of Arizona; his best friend Elijah Curtis of Ohio; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Franky Lee and Hazel Green Williams, as well as Nolan Douglas Veal Jr. and Clarence Williams.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Mary Ann and Rich Camacho for their loving care. Mark entered into glory surrounded by family and love.
“And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also must I bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.”
John 10:16
Blessings to all who came out to celebrate the life of Mark De’Wayne Green.
Rest in peace, our brother.
Prayer:
Lord and Master, who did weep beside the grave and are touched with the feeling of sorrow; fulfill now your promise that you will not leave we your people comfortless but will come to us in our time of need. Hear our prayer now O Lord and send your comforter that we know to be the Holy Ghost and let us put our trust in thee who are mighty in life and triumphant in death. Allow us to serve you day by day that we may find eternal fellowship with you and perfect rest in your kingdom. In the mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen
