Michael O'Hara III, died on Apr. 14, 2015. His only regret is that he didn't get a chance to see his Dallas Cowboys win yet another championship, affording him the chance to have some good- natured ribbing of colleagues at Stanley Spring where he'd worked. Born Dec. 30, 1946 in Marfa, Texas, Mike moved to El Paso with his family in 1950. Mike played football and baseball for the Burges Mustangs from 1961-1965, a team he believed still had the best looking uniforms of any local team. Mike then attended Texas Western College but abandoned his studies in pursuit of his future wife, Clotilde (Ramirez) O'Hara, who he met at a wedding reception. Ten months after meeting, they wed and later, had two children: Elizabeth O'Hara Williams and Adrian O'Hara. Mike spent a great part of his life working for Goodyear Tire and Rubber where he was an executive. Later, he moved the needle for Montgomery Ward, Auto Zone, El Paso Tire Co., and Stanley Spring. Mike's extensive knowledge of all things car and truck made him a success in his professional life and the go-to-man for his children anytime they messed up their cars. The only thing Mike loved more than cars and working on his yard were his grandchildren. They are Michaela Paige, Zoe Bella and Adrian Nathaniel O'Hara and Lindsey Marie, Logan Matthew and JiHua Williams. Roxanne Luna and Dave Williams, spouses to Mike's children, are also a part of his tribe. Mike is preceded in death by his father Michael O'Hara II and Lydia Lujan O'Hara. No one ever knew what to get Mike for his birthday or Christmas, he always said he didn’t need anything. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a ministry of your choice at St. Mark. Mike would’ve liked that.
Visitation: 5-9pm Friday, April 24, 2015 with a vigil at 7pm at F.D.A. Martin Funeral Home East. Funeral Mass: 9am Saturday, April 25, 2015 at St. Mark Catholic Church.
