In quiet sorrow, we gather now, a thin blue line drawn on the brow.
To speak of a friend, Mike Castillo by name, and remember the quiet light of his flame.
The badge is retired, the shift is complete, but the echo of his footsteps still walks the street.
He answered the call, with a purpose so true, to serve and protect in a uniform of blue.
He wasn't just a cop; he was one of our own, a friend whose quiet kindness had grown.
His courage was solid, his spirit so vast, with memories of laughter that will eternally last.
There are stories to tell, and times to recall, of a good man who gave his all.
For every life touched, and every call he would face, he left behind a legacy of grace.
So let the tears fall, for the brother we've lost, and honor the life at so great a cost.
His memory a shield, a guiding star, no matter how distant, no matter how far.
And though he has moved on to a higher beat, his presence in our hearts will always be sweet.
Mike Castillo, friend, and policeman, rest now in peace, your watch is forevermore at its final release.

My deepest condolences to Mike ‘s family. We were partners and I enjoyed every minute. I looked forward in coming to work with Mike. He was funny and every day was an adventure with him. He was smart and cared about other officers . He was always there to help and I have to say he made me a better officer. I will miss you my friend . RIP

My deepest condolences to Mike and his family. He was my first training officer when I graduated from the police academy many years ago. Mike told me from the very first day as a rookie that I had to learn while on the job since what they teach at the academy was only a basic knowledge of what a police officer should know in order to apply what you learned while in the police academy. I learned from the best and will always be thankful to Mike for showing me the correct way to handle any situation and be an example of what a good "cop" should be. You will be greatly missed and want to thank you for having instilled in me what a "true" officer is.

My condolences to Mikes family.  Men like Mike can’t be replaced and their passing leaves a void in our lives.  Mike was a senior officer when I graduated the police academy and was assigned to his shift.  He was a master level officer.   I strived to be half the cop he was.  Mike was generous,  as a rookie cop putting a wife through utep he paid for many meals when I had no money.   I am eternally grateful for the knowledge he shared about our profession.  They don’t make men like Mike anymore.  He will truly be missed.

I was just notified by your niece on your passing my friend. Thank you for being my partner in the East Valley Police Substation. 
I enjoyed the times we spent shooting at the range. I knew you were hurting from your illness. God be with you Mike. You were my best friend. It will be lonely shooting without you. I will miss you a lot.
