Nancy passed away at the age of 71 after a brief illness on Thursday, August 22, 2024. Born on November 30, 1952 in San Francisco, California to Sam and Janice Rutherford, she was the second of two daughters who were loved deeply by their parents.
Nancy was a graduate of Eastwood High School and Sul Ross State University. After college, she began a long career in education teaching a variety of grade levels in several lower valley elementary schools in El Paso.
After retiring in 2017, she spent her days taking care of her mother and doting on her first love, her dogs, Jack and Jill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Janice Rutherford and her sister, Pam Livingston. She is survived by her brother in law, Randy Livingston, her nieces, Keri Livingston, Kyle Neese, Kim Klutts and husband Brandt and nephew Ryan Livingston and wife Jessica and great nieces Randi Choat and Molly Klutts and great nephews Brady Neese, Brooks Klutts, Weston Klutts, and Audy Livingston.
The family will have a private memorial at a later date.
