Olga Chavira, 87yoa, born April 21, 1936 and lifelong resident of El Paso, Texas, passed peacefully surrounded by family on June 21, 2023. She was a devout catholic and parishioner of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
As a young lady in the early 1960’s, she was employed as an elevator girl at The Cortez Hotel and The Plaza Hotel. She always spoke of those memories fondly, getting to know many entertainers and performers those old-time elevators, asking “what floor, please.” Olga held on to so many of those autographed photos and cherished those memories. She continued to work in the manufacturing field until retirement. After retiring she began to work at the family owned business, The Sausage Shop. She became the beloved customer contact and cashier, wowing everyone with her smile, inner-beauty and wit.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Guadalupe Chavira, her brothers, Alfredo Chavira, Jose J. Chavira and Raul Chavira, and her sister, Gloria Anaya.
Olga is survived by her husband, Lorenzo J. Moya, her sister Maria Juventina Douglass, her daughters, Leticia Leos Hernandez (Miguel H.), and Irma Contreras Hryszko (Ted H); her grandsons, Christopher L. Perez (Diane), Rene G.
