

Paul M. Rogers, Jr., 77, Loving Husband, Faithful Father and Grandfather, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2016, after a valiant fight against cancer. Paul was preceded in death by His parents, Paul M. and Sidney Rice Rogers. Paul had a passion for the Shrine of North America philanthropy. He was a Shriner, a 32nd Degree Master Mason member of Lodge 1111 and the Omar Bradley Lodge, and a member of the Scottish Rite. He served as Potentate and Treasurer of El Maida Shrine Center, as well as Colonel of the Lizzie Patrol and the Red Barons. He also served as the Director of the Royal Order of Jesters, Court 34. Paul, a lifelong El Pasoan, attended El Paso High School, Allen Military Academy in Bryan, Texas and the University of Colorado, Boulder. After returning to El Paso he served in the New Mexico Air National Guard and worked in the food brokerage business with his father at Paul M. Rogers Brokerage, Rogers & Griffith, and later for Arnett Brokerage. Passions included restoring classic cars, WW II history, fighter airplanes, football, Nascar, as well as Shrine parades and state drill competitions.
He is survived by his spouse, Sally H. Rogers of 27 years, his daughter Kelly R. Farquharson, of Woodbridge, VA (Eric), his step daughters Rebecca Miller of Tampa, FL (Clint) and Melissa Knuth of Largo, FL; his Grandchildren Catherine, Caroline and Andrew Farquharson all of Woodbridge, VA., and Brennen and Collin Miller of Tampa, FL.
Service of Remembrance to be held on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at 1 pm, Kaster-Maxon & Futrell Funeral Home, 8817 Dyer Street. Interment directly following at Restlawn Cemetery. A Celebration honoring Paul’s life will be held at El Maida Shrine Temple, 6331 Alabama Street, following the above services.
