I am so very sorry to learn of the passing of your husband.  I know these are difficult days and I send my sincere condolences.  You are in my thoughts as you move forward surrounded by the love of your family.

Phil was always such a kind and genuine soul. He was easy going, easy to talk to, and easy to be around. He was a big part of many years of my life. I am sad that he has passed. I wish him and his family much peace.

How fortunate we were to live across the street from your family and to have a friendship that continues until today.  Phil was a grand neighbor.   Hearing his music in the evenings made living  close by  a joy.  
  We have such fond memories of Scott and Sarah   playing back and forth between the houses   ( getting into mischief from time to time).

 I wanted to share a memory with you. 
I was 12 or 13 and Mike a year older when Phil and Terri were dating . I’m not even sure if they were engaged yet , but they offered to take us to Western Playland with them . Mom and Dad entrusted us to their care.  
Knowing Phil as you do, you know he always took his responsibilities seriously.  He kept a good eye on us.  
I’d like to think of that, as the day he took on the role of big brother for me. 
It’s a role he lovingly continued for the rest of his life.
Looking out for us in small ways and in big ways. Always knowing where we were or where we were headed,  he”d warn us of weather and road conditions along the way. This pertained to us and all our children too.  
And , He was the ultimate host, welcoming us, our loved ones, our loved ones loved ones, and our friends, into his and Terri’s home for holidays and barbecues and entertaining us with his jokes and stories and music. Never giving us a reason to hesitate to just pop up at their door , sit at the kitchen table to talk, or head out to their gorgeous backyard and let our grandsons climb into trees or run through Fall leaves.  
He embraced us all with his love, concern, kindness and generosity.
I read something a while back that said 
we grieve, according to the degree or measure that we love. 
And so we grieve with you, dear Terri, Scotty, Jenn, Corey, Tami and Josh,the passing of Phil, because he was so very very loved. 
May you rest in peace, my big brother Phil.  

It is with great sadness to have heard of Phil's death. I remember when we would get together when you moved to the Chicago area. We would arrange boxes like a play pen for Matt, but he could always find a way to crawl out.

My heart goes out to all of you as you grieve the loss of Phil.
It has been so many years since I have seen him, but as some of the oldest cousins in the James Latendresse clan, we did spend time together in the early days.

My cousin, Donna (Latendresse) Larson, and I were also born in 1947, and the three of us celebrated our first communion together in 1954.

Phillip was my cousin. Our childhoods were bound together in so many ways. Our family was large and loving so we spent special occasions together in Indianapolis or Marion, Indiana. Three of us made our First Communions on the same day so there are pictures of me in my dress and veil and my cousins Phillip and Charles in their white suits. 

Philip and his brother Jack were part of our gang of 27 cousins on his mother's side.  As a kid I remember they were a lot of fun when we saw them during holidays in Indiana or visited them in El Paso. They enjoyed jokes and pranks, but actually seemed more mature sometimes than their mom and dad.
But they got their love of life and music and fun and friends from my  Aunt Del and Uncle Phil and carried it through the rest of their lives.  We miss all of them.

Dear Terri and Family,
First of all, Sandy and I offer our sympathy, prayers and thoughts to all of you as you mourn the loss of your husband, father and grandfather. We wish we could be with you.

Terri, it was way back in 1969, when we met you and Phil at a restaurant near or in Chicago. We lived in Princeton, Illinois and when I heard you were only two hours away I told Sandy, "we've got to go meet them". I think she thought I was crazy, but I hadn't seen Phil in a long time plus we hadn't met you. I seem to recall your having Mexican style eggs which I had never seen before. But more than that, we had a great time together meeting you for the first time, and catching up and telling new and old stories. We laughed and laughed as I recall. On the way home I told Sandy, "I sure wish we lived closer for we had such a good time with you and Phil. You might have been pregnant with Jennifer. In August of 1969 our Daughter, Amy was born so they could have been good friends and cousins.
