Rachel was born on August 3, 1991, in Watertown, New York, to her loving parents, Barry Brian Bruün and Marribell Bruün. She was their only child and the cherished center of their lives.
Rachel was a kind and gentle soul, quick to make others laugh and known for her warm heart. She had a creative spirit and expressed herself through drawing and painting. Art and music brought her comfort and joy, as did long country rides and quiet moments spent with her mother and father. Rachel enjoyed chatting online with her friends and had a deep love for animals of all kinds—especially cats.
Her beloved cat, Sassie, was devoted to her and loved her dearly, rarely leaving her side. Their bond brought Rachel comfort and companionship, and Sassie was a constant source of affection and peace in her life.
Throughout her life, Rachel faced the difficult burden of mental illness. She carried this struggle with courage, even during seasons of great pain. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now at peace—free from suffering, sorrow, and struggle—and resting in the loving arms of Jesus Christ.
Rachel was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Raymond Boutilier and Rose Boutilier, and her maternal grandparents, Robert Ray and Shirley Ray.
She is survived by her devoted parents, Barry Brian Bruün and Marribell Bruün, who loved her deeply and will carry her memory in their hearts forever.
Rachel will be remembered for her tenderness, her creativity, her gentle humor, and the love she shared so freely. Though her time on earth was far too short, her life mattered deeply, and her presence will never be forgotten.
