Raul Ramirez

Raul "Guero" Ramirez, 91, of Horizon City, Texas, passed away on June 19, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family. Born in El Paso, Texas, on August 13, 1933, Raul lived a life rich in experience and love. He was the cherished husband of Ana Maria Ramirez and proud father to Paul Ramirez, Elizabeth Cedillo, and Annette Baumgartner. His son Michael preceded him in death, and we find solace in knowing they are now reunited.

He served honorably in the US Navy from 1952 to 1956, often vividly recounting memories aboard his naval ship. Following his service, Raul embarked on a 34-year career with the United States Postal Service, faithfully working the same mail route until retiring in 1989. His warm character and famous smile earned him recognition in the newspaper as Best Mail Carrier, a testament to his dedication and kindness.

Though seemingly tough on the outside, Raul held immense softness for his family. He meticulously balanced his diligent work ethic with devoted family time. His weekends were filled with family BBQs, outdoor adventures in Cloudcroft and Ruidoso, and cherished moments sharing his love for poker.

Raul's legacy of love and dedication endures in the hearts of his family. He leaves behind countless cherished memories and a shining example of steadfast devotion. We will miss him dearly but know he watches over us with Michael.

The memorial service for Raul will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary service at 7:00 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina Drive, El Paso, TX 79915. The funeral mass will occur Thursday, July 10, 2025 at 1:30 PM at St Mark Catholic Church, 11700 Pebble Hills, El Paso, Texas 79936. The graveside service will occur Thursday, July 10, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, TX 79906.
