Richard Allen Kusserow, age 75, was called home peacefully on March 8, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family and his feline friend Patches. Richard was born in Japan on October 4, 1950. He graduated from Eastwood High School, and took night classes at El Paso Community College to further his education. After high school, he began driving a tractor-trailer for the US postal service and later for Kessler industries, before entering the Army to follow in his father’s footsteps. He proudly served his country for 18 and a half years with many deployments. Some of his interests included playing pool where he was known as “The King”, listening to music, going to concerts, and watching many sporting events. He married the love of his life Barbara Kusserow on September 28, 1991. He was a proud member of the Western Hills United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Barbara Kusserow, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren which he embraced with love as his own family. He is also survived by his sister, Alice Kusserow Turner, her husband, Wayne Turner, and his many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Oliver Kusserow, his mother Carolyn Kusserow, and his aunt Evelyn Orth. The funeral services will be held on Thursday March 20, at Western Hills United Methodist Church, 524 Thunderbird, El Paso, TX 79912. Visitation will be held from 10-11:30am, followed by a service and a small reception. He will be laid to rest at a private burial at Memory Gardens with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be sent to Western Hills United Methodist Church.
