Richard A Perez

Mr. Richard Allen Perez Senior, 80 passed away peacefully on December 10, 2024. He was born September 30, 1944 in El Paso, Texas. He attended Bel Air high school, upon graduation he joined the US Navy. After he was honorably discharged he moved back to El Paso where he joined his father Leo R. Perez in a few thriving businesses. Their masonry business is responsible for many structures that still stand to this day. But computer programming is what his true passion was. He helped build one of the most successful liquor stores in all of West Texas. Juanitos liquor store. He worked 25 hours a day eight days a week, yes!! Hard work is what he learned and taught, his famous words were "Don't take any wooden nickels. Period." He enjoyed playing in a band, magic, telling jokes he loved, putting smiles on people's faces. He also enjoyed camping, traveling, and a nice cigarette after each meal. But most importantly, his family. His family is what fueled his motivation day to day.

He is now with his mother and father, who he missed and loves very much.

He is survived by his sisters and brother Marie villa, John, Perez, wife Debbie Lily Mijarez husband George, Eddie Juarez and his wife Ruth, nieces and nephews, three children, Jacqueline, Marie Perez, Richard, Allen, Perez Junior, a.k.a. Ricky, Michelle Ann Perez, grandchildren, Samantha N Perez, Jeremy A Perez, Christopher Angel, Lopez, Daisy N Perez, his extended family, the Juanitos crew a special thank you to Dr. Bornstein and the rest of the medical crew who kept my father going day by day. Lord Jesus, we thank you for loaning us a magical man.

A visitation for Richard will be held Sunday, January 5, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina Drive, El Paso, TX 79915. A rosary will occur Sunday, January 5, 2025 at 6:00 PM, 1060 North Carolina Drive, El Paso, TX 79915. A graveside service will occur Monday, January 6, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, TX 79906.
