Richard Taubner

Richard was the oldest son of Maria and Joseph Taubner born November 27, 1949 in Neinburg auf der Wesser. He has a brother Manfred, and two sisters, Herta and Karina and five nephews all living in Germany.

Richard Taubner graduated from UTEP in August 1980 with a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Electrical Engineering. Upon graduation, he began to work for General Instruments on Lomaland Drive where he worked a few years before being hired at Nokia in Clearwater, Florida for a short stay due to their long hurricane season. On December 1985, him and his wife, Juanita (Jane), moved to San Diego, California by General Dynamics in Kearny Mesa where he worked until being hired by ARINC Research Corporation then helped with the founding of SheriKon, Inc where he worked for many years until hired at Science Application International Corporation SAIC for more than 15 years. He continued his engineering career at SPAWAR Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command in early 2000 moving on to Sentek Global before retiring in 2018.

While living in Scripps Ranch, Richard and his wife Juanita enjoyed playing golf on weekends at Morgan Run where they were members for more than 15 years.

He is survived here in El Paso by his wife of 53 years, Juanita (Jane), 2 brother-in-laws, Hector Gutierrez, Xavier Gutierrez, sister-in-law Wanda, brother-in-law Robert in Portland Oregon, and nephews Jaime, Stacy and daughters, Megan and Piper from Nebraska, Elizabeth and husband J.J. from Houston, Texas and Marc in San Diego, California.

Visitation will be held at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1551 Belvidere St, El Paso, TX 79912, on Friday, January 9th, 2026 from 10AM to 12PM with Rosary taking place at 10:30AM. Mass will be held at 12:30PM followed by burial at Restlawn Memorial Park, 4848 Alps El Paso TX 79904, at 2PM.
