Robert Ellis Bean

July 15th, 1953 – December 22nd, 2016

Robert Ellis Bean, 63, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, December 22nd, 2016 after his battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Susan, daughter and son-in law Jennifer and Neil Austin, son and daughter-in-law Jacob and Erika, his brothers John and James and their families, and his grandchildren Rylee, Hailey, Luke, Charlotte, and Savanah. He was preceded in death by his parents Willis Ray Bean and Marcella Birute Stiklus. Robert was born in El Paso, Texas in 1953 where he built a very successful life and family. He graduated with honors from Eastwood High School in 1971 and was quarterback of the football team. Robert earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and his Master of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin. While in Austin, Robert met the love of his life Susan Elisabeth Adams. They were married on December 9th, 1978 and returned to El Paso. Robert obtained his Professional Engineering license in 1982 and worked as the lead engineer and President of his father's corporation, Willis R. Bean & Associates. Bob, you made a very positive impact on the lives that you touched. You are loved and will be missed by your family and friends. Any donations in his honor may be made to La Mariposa Hospice at Providence Hospital or to the Texas Oncology Foundation. A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held on Thursday, December 29th, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Martin Funeral Home West, 128 N. Resler Dr., El Paso, Texas 79912.
