I was a friend of Bobby’s or Pablo’s as we also knew him back in high school and at UTEP. Left El Paso but tried unsuccessfully to reconnect with him. We had some great times together I will miss him and not having the chance to get together again. Our hearts and thoughts are with those he loved and cherished he left behind. I wrote this on my Facebook page for many others he knew I am still in touch with. I borrowed a few of your pictures.

Sadly doing an internet search for clues to hopefully reconnect with him I just learned of the passing of an old Parkland High School and UTEP friend Robert A. Estrada better known to me as Pablo or Bobby. An obituary popped up that Bobby passed away in El Paso last June at the age of 73. He was PHS class of 65. I knew he had stayed in El Paso and become the head of some Bank there at one point. My sister Bev ran into him once but unfortunately she didn’t get his contact information. Really bummed once again that an obituary popped up and that I never got the chance to reconnect. I just know it would have been fun. 

Bobby was such a funny dude back in the day and according to some comments and memories left he never lost that great sense of humor. We had some wild and crazy times when together. Somehow I got out of the Cops nabbing me instead after letting him out of the backseat of the Police Car at the OA at Sunrise. After Dave Eaton, Jim Reynolds and he dropped off to see me my first night in the Army their interactions with the Sergeant from our barracks while we were sitting out on the lawn left me sweeping, mopping, waxing and buffing the entire barracks all night long with everybody ticked at me for having to leave the lights on and the sound of the buffer running. 🙂 Not the best way to kick off your first night in Basic Training at the holding company. 

One comment to his obituary told me he remained the good guy I always knew him to be in our younger days. It was someone commenting on their friendship, his sense of 

A very good friend for many years always happy and joking one time when I could not pay my bill my monthly note at the bank Robert said I’ll pay it for you! Who does that not many people anyway much love to all the family
