To my cousins Mark, Norma and Eric, I send my condolences on the passing of my Tio Rudy.. May the memories sustain and bring comfort during this difficult time.  The world has lost a good man , a dear brother, and a father who will be missed.  A quiet man he was, not saying much ( a Vasquez trait) .  A hard working man who provided for his family and a devoted husband to my Tia Mina till the end.  The trips to El Paso as kids or Ensenada are memories that will forever be etched in my mind .  A memory I  recall is when I  was older and found out that my Tio was an Army Vietnam Veteran.  It was my me, my Tio, and Dad sitting around the table and the respect and admiration  I had for my Tio just jumped 10x. I would ask him questions after questions which eventually led to my enlistment. When duty called my Tio during the Vietnam War, he served proudly and for that he will always be a hero to me. Even  without the cape , superpowers or fancy gadgets he kept us safe at night   When The Good Lord came calling for my Tio Rudy, I like to believe in spirit he stood up and  is now serving the Lord proudly and still keeping us safe at night. You will be missed Tio. In closing I say to my primos, you are not alone in your mourning and  I'm sure I speak for my brother and sisters when I say this: We are here for you and if there is anything you guys need, we are only a phone call away. From Cali to El Paso we all love you. Rest in Peace Tio (you've earned it).
