Rodrigo (Roy) Prieto passed with peace on January 12, 2017 at the age of 73 with his family at his side. Survived by his wife of 49 years, Esperanza, his two daughters Lettie and Sonia, as well as his two son-in-laws Martin and Andres. Roy had 5 grandchildren, Denise, Andrew, Erica, Noelle and Briahna. Alyssa, Alize, and Addison are his loving great grandchildren. Roy worked for Weaver Scopes until they closed their doors in 1984. He then went to work for the El Paso Independent School District where he retired after 20 years of employment. Looking back, Roy was a jokester, someone who loved to make people laugh. He loved dancing to his favorite oldies music. He was great at fixing cars as well as collecting a few of them in his backyard. This was a man who worked well with his hands, building his family three houses from the ground up. You can say that he was a bit stubborn and yes, maybe a little stingy with his money, but he will be greatly missed. If you ever got one of Roy's "famous" lectures, it was not to punish you (even though it felt like it) but it was because he genuinely cared about you. He found great joy in camping, gambling, fishing and hunting, with family and friends. As he leaves an empty spot in our hearts, we expect his to be up in heaven, wearing his sunglasses while having a cigarette and drinking coffee, making everyone laugh.
