Romualda Marquez

Our beloved mother, Romualda “Ruma” Marquez, passed away peacefully at the age of 81 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by the love of her family.

She is now reunited in eternal peace with her cherished husband and life companion of 61 years, Mr. Jesus Elias Marquez, who preceded her in death.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: Raul Marquez (Rosa), Jesus Marquez (Lourdes), Armando Marquez (Minerva), Guadalupe M. Gomez (Carlos), and Alejandro Marquez (Lorraine). She was a proud and devoted grandmother to 15 grandchildren—Gina, Sara, Raul Jr., Kristy, Jacob, Nathalie, Armando Jesus, Joshua, Jessica, Kenneth, Isaiah, Christopher, Alejandro Jr., Alexis Nicole, and Mia Marie—as well as 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Affectionately known as “Grandma Cookies,” mom was the heart and soul of her family. She gave of herself endlessly, offering kindness, care and comfort to all who entered her home. Her door—and her heart—were always open.

A woman of deep faith, mom was devoted not only to her family but also to her church and community. Her warmth, strength and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Though words cannot fully express the ache in our hearts, the beautiful memories she gave us all will remain forever. We find comfort in knowing that she now walks hand in hand with our dad, together again, surrounded by everlasting peace and light.

Mom’s presence was a gift to us all. She will be missed beyond measure but never forgotten.

A Visitation for Romualda will be held Wednesday, August 27, 2025 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Funeraria Del Angel Hillcrest West, 5054 Doniphan Drive, El Paso, TX 79932, with a Rosary beginning at 10:15am. A Funeral Mass will follow at 12:30pm at San Martin De Porres, 1885 McNutt Rd, Sunland Park, New Mexico 88063. Funeral Services for Romualda will conclude with an Interment at 2:00pm at Memory Gardens of the Valley, 4900 McNutt Rd, Santa Teresa, NM 88008.
