

Rosa Maria Torres, 74, of El Paso, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2025, with her devoted daughter by her side. Born on November 4, 1950, in Guadalupe D.B., Chihuahua, Mexico, Rosa was the beloved daughter of Mercedes and Vicente Quintana. She embraced the American dream when she became a U.S. citizen in 1969, and her life became a testament to hard work, resilience, and unwavering love for her family and community.
Rosa dedicated many years of her career to serving others, working in various departments at Las Palmas Del Sol Medical Center (formerly Eastwood Medical Center, Vista Hills Medical Center and Columbia East) and later at Farmers Insurance as a front desk clerk. Her warm smile, compassionate nature, and dedication left a lasting impression on colleagues and patients alike, many of whom became lifelong friends. After retiring, Rosa selflessly devoted herself to caring for her beloved husband, Leopoldo Torres, until his passing—a testament to her boundless love and loyalty.
Rosa was a woman of remarkable strength, honesty, and generosity. She was known for her open heart, her gift of hospitality, and her ability to speak her mind with kindness and candor. Her authenticity and wisdom touched everyone she met, leaving an indelible mark on their lives. Rosa’s home was always filled with laughter, love, and the comforting aroma of her delicious cooking, which she shared generously with family and friends.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Claudia Torres, who was her pride and joy; her cherished grandson, Joseph Torres; her sister, Lupe Camargo; and her brother, Vicente Quintana. Rosa was also a beloved godmother, aunt, and great-aunt to many, and her nurturing spirit extended to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mercedes and Vicente Quintana, and her devoted husband, Leopoldo Torres.
A visitation service will be held on March 13, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m., at Hillcrest Funeral Home 1060 North Carolina Drive, El Paso, TX 79915. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Rosa’s honor or contributions to her grandson Joseph’s college fund, ensuring her legacy of love and support continues for future generations.
Rosa Maria Torres will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her love, kindness, and unwavering strength will forever inspire those she leaves behind.
