Ruben is survived by his wife Laura Lawyer, his children: Richard Ortiz Rodriguez, Ruben Y. Rodriguez, and Angelina (Rodriguez) Ramirez; his sisters Bellia Amaya and Sylvia Rojas, and four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Ruben lived an active life and was a retired veteran. he proudly served a distinguished career of 21 years in the US Army, and ten years with the El Paso Fire Department. He participated in numerous marathons while being on active duty and continued after he retired. He traveled the world and made friends wherever he served and lived.
Ruben's services will be at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, TX. 79906
