

Russell R. Guillette, beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully on Friday November 28, 2014. Russell was born August 22, 1933 in Graniteville, Vermont and as a young man was stationed at Ft. Bliss Texas in 1955, a member of Company A, 168th Air Defense Battalion. Russell joined Southwestern Bell after his military service and retired after 32 years in a management position. During his work career Russell enjoyed volunteering on the National Ski Patrol at Ruidoso New Mexico-Ski Apache. To this day most of the map and runs were named by Mr Guillette. After retirement, Russell enjoyed various mission trips with YWAM in Japan, Guatemala, and Hawaii serving as a member of the Founders' Fellowship. In addition he helped with the building program at Bethel Family Ministries. Russell met his bride Elisa in El Paso, married faithfully for 57 years, together they raised three children, Cindy, Russell and Karen. Russell is preceded in death by his parents Emile & Edith Guillette, brothers Alfred and Robert. He is survived by his brothers Albert, Merile Guillette and sister Sally (Flemings) Benoit. He also was the proud grandfather of five grandchildren Sarah (Williams) Tarbet, Lauren (Williams) Schaub, Bethany Williams, Daniel McGhee, Luke McGhee and ten great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Monday December 1st at the Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 N. Carolina Drive from 4-6:30 pm. with words by pastor at 5 pm. Funeral services will begin at 12 noon December 2 at Bethel Family Ministries, 6301 Alabama and then a procession to Fort Bliss National Cemetery for internment. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Casas de Libertad Bethel, (1328 Mathias El Paso, Tx 79903) a children's home and orphanage in Juarez, Mexico, where Russell and Elisa have enjoyed serving for over 14 years. Mr. Guillette treated everyone with mutual respect and valued relationships and made many life long friends throughout his life. Russell fought the good fight, finished the race and now is enjoying eternal life.
