

Salvador “Chava” Perales, 85, of El Paso, died on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. He was born on Jan 26, 1933 in Aguascalientes, Mexico to Antonio and Maria Perales. He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Raul, Javier, Alicia, Celia, and Carmen and is survived by his devoted wife Amelia, sister Angela and his sons and daughters Carmen, Gloria, Gilberto, Charlie, Lourdes, Rosy, and Sal Jr. He shared a heart full of love with his numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. His sense of humor was unmatched by anyone and brought smiles to all those he knew. In his younger years he was a soccer star and an amazing coach, played a tournament with Mexico’s national under 19 team and had a 4 year stint with the professional team Atlante in the 50s. Chava lived for over half a century in El Paso, Tx with a recent stint in the hometown of his beloved Dallas Cowboys. He earned his GED and a degree in accounting but his biggest accomplishment was his loving marriage of 57 years and the family legacy he leaves behind. The love he had for life was admired by many and the strength he showed in his last years will never be forgotten. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Jose Luna, Dr. Abraham Gonzalez, and Dr. Patricio Pazmino, for over 20 years of excellent care. The visitation is from 5:00pm until 9:00pm on Friday, February 9, 2018, at the Hillcrest Funeral Home at 5054 Doniphan Dr. The funeral service will follow at 11:00am on February 10, 2018, at St Francis of Assisi Church, 5750 Doniphan Dr.
