Selinda Susan Russell

Selinda S. Russell, age 78, passed away on Saturday, January 3rd, 2026. She was born in El Paso, TX on January 29th, 1947 to Joseph E. Gemoets Jr. and Marjorie (Parker) Gemoets. She was a 1970 Graduate from UT El Paso with a BA in Music Education. She married her late husband, James W. Russell Jr. on May 29th, 1971, with whom she would share 3 children. She was a devoted Catholic, wife, mother and grandmother—her family describes her as a bastion of kindness; no one was unwelcome in her home or at her dinner table; if you came, you were fed, given drink and properly loved on. Preceded in death by her husband of 47 years and eldest son. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Todd Kessler, and her youngest son and daughter-in-law, Christopher Russell and Amy Collins-Russell, along with a multitude of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Services will be held on Friday, January 23rd, 2026 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, located at 400 W Sunset Rd, El Paso, Texas, 79922 at 10:30AM and is open to all who knew and loved her.

The family asks that those in attendance wear red, Selinda's favorite color, as we celebrate her life and her calling home.
