Socorro S. De Los Santos Gutierrez

Our Beloved Wife, Mother, and Grandmother Socorro S. Gutierrez, 79, of El Paso, Texas met the Lord in Heaven on Sunday, January 25, 2015 as she passed away with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Agustin and Matilde De Los Santos. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Jose S. Gutierrez, as well as her sister Marta Medrano. Surviving are her six children: Hilda Martinez (husband Jake), Elena Marquez, Susana Ramirez (husband Joe), Joe Gutierrez Jr. (wife Robin), Sandie Colón (husband Juan), and David Gutierrez (wife Klaudia); fifteen grandchildren: Michelle, Christina, Daniel Joseph, Richard, Samantha, Amanda, Lisa, Jacob, Johnny, Joseph, Joshua, Daisy, David I., Laura, and Victoria; and five great-grandchildren: Nathaniel, Vianae, Andrew, Michael, and Benjamin. Our Mom was a proud Mother and Grandmother who dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren. Socorro lost her life battling Alzheimer’s disease, and though her memory was altered, she continuously remembered her family and displayed her constant love and affection. Her family will always cherish her encouragement, guidance and humor. Socorro was a wonderful example of what a loving Mother and dedicated Wife should be. She will be greatly missed and will always be honored in the hearts of her loved ones. Family would like to extend special thanks to her foster care providers, Diana, Laura, and Lilia who cared for her unconditionally. And to her family, in her unforgettable words, “I Love You More.” Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, February 2, 2015 at Little Flower Catholic Church, 171 Polo Inn Road, El Paso, TX 79915, with Committal Services immediately following at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
