Teresa Nell Buster ( El Paso, TX), born Teresa Nell Mabry to parents J.D. Mabry and Nancy Munn Mabry, on February 18, 1955, in Mississippi was nothing short of amazing. Weighing a mere 3lbs 3 oz at birth, she was born a fighter. After 3 months, she would go home weighing 5lbs 1oz.
Throughout middle school and high school, she excelled in sports to include basketball, cheerleading, and track. She graduated in 1973, and quickly fell in love with a young man who was enlisted in the Navy. The two would wed one year later in 1974. She often told a story of how for the first two months of dating, she believed the young man’s name was Buster Brown, only to find out a short time later his name was, Walter Hardee Buster.
After getting married, the couple would move to Texas, where they would have their first child, James in 1979. Making their way back to Mississippi for a short time, they would have their 2nd child, Nancy in 1982. The family eventually moved again, settling in El Paso, TX.
Teresa worked for the Socorro Independent School District for over 20 years. She found she had a great connection and passion for the middle school aged children. Teresa was once recognized by the school district for saving the life of a choking student.
She had a great gift speaking to people. She had compassion and empathy for everyone she met. Always willing to be a shoulder to cry on, or an ear to listen to.
She was an amazing woman of faith and loved the Lord with all her heart. She instilled these same beliefs in her family. She loved her family and took great pride in being a Mom, Mamo, and wife.
This amazing wife, Momma, Mamo- was called home to the Lord on December 8, 2022, at 6:02 am while surrounded by her loving family.
Psalm 28:7 The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him and I am greatly helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices and with my song I will praise Him.
